Our Story

Founded in 1998 by Principal Architect Eric Kraai, Kraai Design Architecture has established itself as one of the leading architectural firms on Colorado’s Western Slope. What began as a
small practice focused on residential design has evolved into a multidisciplinary firm with a diverse portfolio spanning custom homes, commercial spaces, and community projects. For over 25 years, we’ve been dedicated to enhancing the built environment of Grand Junction and surrounding communities through thoughtful, innovative design. Our journey has been

Founded in 1998 by Principal Architect Eric Kraai, Kraai Design Architecture has established itself as one of the leading architectural firms on Colorado’s Western Slope.

1998 - 2001

The beginning of Kraai architecture

Kraai Design Architecture was founded in 1998 by Principal Architect Eric Kraai, initially focusing on custom residential design. By 2001, the firm had established a reputation for quality and attention to detail, laying the foundation for future growth.

2005 - 2010

The project made a name for itself

Kraai Design Architecture expanded its portfolio, taking on both custom residential and small commercial projects. A key project during this time showcased the firm’s commitment to sustainable design and energy efficiency. This period helped solidify the firm’s reputation and set the stage for future growth.
